Neopets is an online virtual pet game. The site was opened to the public on November 15, 1999, by Adam Powell and Donna Williams, and a majority interest was bought by Doug Dohring soon after being created. It is currently owned by Viacom after a business transaction valued at $160 million.
The game allows users to create and take care of one to four of 54 species collectively called Neopets, caring for and feeding them in the worlds of Neopia, using Neopoints (NP), the currency of the game. Neopoints are earned through playing games or won through a diverse array
of contests and activities on the site. In addition, there are discussion boards, plots, and various sets of items and other
things to collect. Its style contains quirks like an abundance of popular culture references. Beyond the website, there is
a variety of merchandise, such as two video games, Neopets: The Darkest Faerie, Neopets: Petpet Adventures: The Wand of Wishing and a trading card game. The site has sparked many controversies such as those surrounding the existence of gambling-themed games, the extensive
use of immersive advertising, and the Scientology beliefs of the CEO, Doug Dohring.
Little Ad Makes Up BIG! One Neopians view of
a particularly plesant shop.
In my search for the ultimate Neopian Mall experience,
I made my way to the Notice board. Many shops jumped out at me..but the one that really caught my eye was kermat13's advert. The
amazing thing about this shop is that the prices are reasonable and the selection is phenomenal! I'm pretty sure kermat13
has every neopian thing in there that either has jelly, jam or the word "gummy" in it. No lie! The shop advert was very
expressive, colorful and informative, all of the navigations worked flawlessly and the overall color and sheer size of
this particular jam/jelly collection was truly outstanding. It just goes to show that alot of the time, the under dog is
the way to go, and you don't need to spend 4mil on a tiny little ad to get results. Thumbs up or thumbs down, you say? Definate
thumbs up.On a scale of 1-10,this shop scored a perfect 10. What kermat13's shop lacks in backgrounds, flashy adverts and
music, it truly makes up for with sheer size, quantity and quality of items. I would definately reccomend kermat13's shop
to anyone who asks. In fact, I'm reccomending it to you right now! Go take a look! You won't be disappointed.
